Following on from the success of last month’s event, the Little Blue Room returns with another evening of original music in Longford town.

Taking to the stage this Friday, December 12, are Cavan-based four-piece WinterKing. Comprising of brothers Lee, Michael, and Ferdia O’Brien, along with percussionist Ben McCarthy, WinterKing describe themselves as “embracing folk, indie, and reggae, culminating on the borders of alternative rock, with a dash of electronica thrown in for good measure.”

Appearing in the special guest slot on the night will be another Cavan-based artist, Áine Cahill.

Áine creates her own distinctive brand of pop music, which draws on several diverse influences, including Lady Gaga, Marilyn Monroe, Lana Del Rey, David Bowie, and Tony Bennett.

Both acts already have EPs under their belts, and songs from these recordings will feature in their performances.

Located in John Browne’s pub on the Market Square, the volunteer-run venue is fast gaining a reputation for booking an eclectic range of talented performers.

Doors open at 9.45 this Friday evening, with the music starting at 10pm.
