The 33rd Drama Festival starts in Ballinamore on March 7 and continues until March 16.
Cloonfour NS is hosting two one-act plays on Friday, March 7 at 8pm in St Barry’s Centre.
Granard Pitch and Putt are holding a Table Quiz on Friday, March 7 in Fay’s Pub, Granard at 9pm. Table of four costs €40.
‘Simple Techniques to managing stress and worry’, a book by Newtowncashel woman Susan Broderick, will be launched in Eason, Longford this Friday, March 7 from 5pm – 6.30pm. All are welcome.
The Longford Senior Scór Table Quiz will take place in Áras Uí Bhriain, Pearse Park, Longford at 8pm on Friday, March 7. The winners of the quiz, which consists of ten rounds of ten questions, will qualify directly for the All-Ireland finals in April.
St Barry’s GAA dinner dance will take place on Saturday, March 8 in the Percy French Hotel, Strokestown.
GAA Fun run
On Saturday, March 8, Carrickedmond GAA will hold their fundraising 5k/10k fun run/walk. The event will commence from the GAA complex in Carrickedmond at 11am with registration from 9am to 10.45am.
On Saturday night, March 8, ‘A Lock of Fierce Roars’ by John McManus will be performed at the Whitehall Community Centre, Whitehall, Castlepollard.
Killoe man Paul Devaney will leave to climb Mount Everest in a few week’s time as part of the Seven Summits project. The people of Longford will get the chance to show their support for him this Saturday night, March 8 as a fundraiser and awareness evening takes place in Kiernan’s Old Forge Bar.
A benefit night will take place on Saturday, March 8 in Creegan’s Bar, Bunlahy in aid of the Sammon family.
