Come and enjoy a unique Gathering experience – a month where the heartland of Ireland celebrates heritage, culture and shared memories of yesteryear in County Longford’s ‘Old Days Old Ways’ Festival.

The Old Days Old Ways festival will run for the month of August, and will see many Longford natives return home to take part in some of the festival’s events.

One person returning from Hastings in the United Kingdom is artist Lucy Brennan Sheil. As part of the festival she will facilitate four days of painting in the idyllic bog surroundings of Corlea Trackway Visitor Centre, Longford.

Throughout the festival, a number of events are planned to cater for all ages, interests and tastes, including: live music, painting, workshops, story-telling, exhibitions, demonstrations, a genealogy afternoon, walking tours, talks and even a world record attempt for the largest Gathering of painters in a bogland area in the midlands.

So join in the fun, and celebrate all that Longford has to offer throughout the month of August.
