Longford Summer Festival returns on July 3-5 and one of the highlights will be the extensive Food Fair and Artisan Area, which will cover the picturesque, five-acre site at the old army barracks in the heart of the town.

This element of the event will run from 11am to 6pm on the Saturday and Sunday with close to 100 stalls on show. In addition plans are underway for a comprehensive Home & Garden section; a Lifestyle Quarter and a Fashion District.

Throughout the day, there will be numerous dining options and two bars including a delightful wine bar. Live music will feature on two stages throughout the day as well as several workshops and topical talks.

The entire event is completely family-focused, and the biggest attraction of the weekend will undoubtedly be the dedicated children’s park, which promises to be a magical escape for the little people.

The zone will be divided into three areas with an array of attractions as well as a petting farm and two great live shows taking place on both days.

The Fashion District looks set to be one of the most popular sections in the tented village, featuring tips and advice as well as fashion shows boasting the latest styles and trends from several leading retailers. It promises to be a memorable occasion for the fashion-conscious.

Among the most sought out sections will of course be the Home & Garden area, with great advice and the latest gadgets for the house and garden as well as Gardening talks over the two days.

The Lifestyle area showcases the many options out there to ensure optimum health. Looking at new sports clubs and opportunities, it’s a one-stop shop for the latest information in this growing and exciting sector.

At night-time the big marquee will come alive with several top acts such as The High Kings, Nathan Carter, Frances Black, Sharon Shannon and Mary Coughlan.

Admission for day-time only on the Saturday and Sunday is just €5 or €3 with concessions. For full details visit longfordsummerfestival.com
