Summer camp kids will release charity single

Starcamp will once again be holding their award-winning summer camps in almost 100 locations throughout Ireland this summer. The Longford camp will take place in the town’s Temperance Hall on August 6 – 10. Aimed at boys and girls aged between 4 and 13, the children will stage a show at the end of the week for their families to come and enjoy. The ethos is to build self-esteem and confidence in children in a non-competitive environment and the camp is open to children of all ability levels.

Many will be familiar with Starcamp after owner Aideen O’Grady appeared on the Dragon’s Den TV show, where she put forward the project to investors. “Being on Dragon’s Den was an absolutely fantastic business decision and a wonderful opportunity,” she said.

One child from each camp held throughout Ireland will have the opportunity to perform on a single that will be recorded and released to raise funds for charity. “The children will not be chosen solely on their vocal ability, but on their efforts and overall contribution to the camp,” said Starcamp’s Aideen O’Grady.

Starcamp are also offering an early booking incentive. Anyone who books before May will be automatically entered into a draw to win four tickets to Jessie J live at the Marquee in Cork. To book your child into this year’s Starcamp, visit www.starcamp.ie or call 021 4377900.
