Get on board the Horror Express

This Hallowe’en (Monday, October 31), the Horror Express will once again ride along the railway line at the Cavan and Leitrim Railway Station at Dromod, Co. Leitrim. This annual event, which sees ghosts, ghouls and witches gathering together to entertain the children of the Horror Express, is now in its 15th year. “The aim of the Horror Express is to provide entertainment for children and it’s really caught on over the years,” said Conal Morgan one of the event’s volunteers. “People come from all over Ireland each year to experience the Horror Express and many years we have over 1,000 children. They come with their parents and other adults. It really is a great night out.”

During the Horror Express, children and parents alike climb on board the decorated three carriage train. This year the graveyard is once again awaiting the spectators!

“So come for a ride, first train immediately after sundown at 6pm – if you dare! Don’t worry helpers from all over the country will be on hand to protect you. The cost is €10 for each child. Parents, if they are good, go free!” said Conal. “There will also be the usual activities, refreshment room, ghost films etc...”
