The latest CSO figures show that the number of people on the live register in Longford has risen to 5,298 in January.
This is a slight increase from the December figure of 5,157. The figures revealed by the CSO today show that live register figures in the county have shot up from 4,315 in January 2009.

The statistics show a serious gender imbalance with 3,638
