New and improved services from Longford to Dublin

New and improved services from Longford to Dublin

New expressway services linking Longford and Edgeworthstown with Dublin city and Dublin Airport are to be established by Bus Éireann in the coming weeks.

The company also announced that it is to run 12 daily services from Dublin Airport to Longford, improve the existing services travelling to and from Maynooth and provide a new stop across from St Joseph’s Care Centre, Dublin Road.

In a statement the company stated, “Bus Éireann has announced more direct services on its Expressway Route 22 and Route 23 commercial services, operating via the M4 motorway, which will result in better services between Longford, Edgeworthstown, Dublin Airport and Dublin city”. “For customers travelling from Longford to Dublin Airport, the journey time will take one hour and 55 minutes,” a spokesperson added. “The revised timetables on Expressway Routes 22 and 23 will start from October 7.”

Express services will depart from Longford to Dublin at 02:25; 02;50; 07:50; 08:30; 09:35; 11:30; 13:45; 14:30; 17:00; 17:30; 19:15 and 20:05. The 07:50 departure will leave from Longford’s Main Street outside AIB Bank, while the others will depart from the Railway Station. All services will pick up at the new stop on the Dublin Road across from St. Joseph’s Care Centre.

“Daily services from Dublin Airport to Edgeworthstown and Longford on routes 22 and 23 will depart at 07:20; 08:20; 10:20; 11:20; 12:30; 14:20; 15:30; 17:20; 18:00; 20:20, 21:05 (Sun only), 22:50 and 23:20 (except Sunday) and there will also be improved levels of service to and from Maynooth,” the spokesperson continued. “Customers travelling from Longford to Dublin should be aware that it costs as little as €13 for an adult single and there are also special midweek, student, family and child discounts available. Free Travel Pass holders may also use the service. Regular commuting customers are advised that they can make savings of up to 52% on their annual and monthly Bus Éireann ticket with the Taxsaver Commuter Ticket and customers can also avail of a Weekly (10 journey) Ticket, which is valid for 10 journeys as specified from the date of purchase.” For more details, please visit www.buseireann.ie
