Cavan based Windows Publications will visit Longford’s Backstage Theatre on Thursday, November 8 next to launch its new anthology.

The book which celebrates 20 years of promoting arts and literature at local and national level is edited by Heather Brett and Granard poet Noel Monahan. Local writers, past and present contributors and surrounding writers groups are invited to come along on launch night and provide readings for the audience.

Local writers, Mary Melvin Geoghegan, Kieran Furey, Margaret Nohily and Rose Moran among others will provide readings from their work on the night and those in attendance are guaranteed a great night’s literary entertainment.

Together, Heather and Noel have published broadsheets, journals and over 30 anthologies of contemporary literature promoting emerging writers. Windows Poetry Competition is one of the biggest national competitions in Ireland and is sponsored by Cavan Crystal. It attracts around 2,000 entries and is gaining in popularity with every passing year.

The new anthology – which was funded by the three County Council Arts offices of Cavan, Longford and Monaghan - contains work from over 70 well known and loved contemporary Irish authors as well as introducing new voices and visual artists. Everyone is welcome on the night and those wishing to read should contact (087) 0534737.
