Deputy Luke Ming Flanagan performed the official opening of Breege Cassidy’s exhibition, ‘Out of the Depths’ - A Celebration of Longford Boglands’, in Cooney’s Hotel Ballymahon.

There was a very large audience in attendance to admire the Kenagh artist’s work. Deputy Flanagan spoke of the beauty of the paintings and how Breege captured the light and colours of the Boglands.

Deputy Luke was introduced by Mary O’Reilly, a close friend of Breege and she spoke of Breege’s long love and passion for the nature and beauty of the Flora and Fauna that is so unique to our Boglands. Mary remembered years ago that on their way home one evening as they drove through the Bog, Breege stopped the car and they both got out to look at the beauty that surrounded them. It inspired Mary to write a poem that she recited, It was the perfect introduction to the official ppening by Deputy Luke Ming Flanagan.
