Poet Ciaran Carson in The Dock

Poet, Author and accomplished Musician Ciaran Carson visits Carrick-on-Shannon to help The Dock celebrate All-Ireland Poetry Day tomorrow, Thursday October 4th.

A Professor of Poetry at Queen’s University in his native Belfast, Ciaran is the author of nine collections of poems including Belfast Confetti, First Language and Breaking News. He has won numerous awards including the TS Eliot Prize, the Irish Times Irish Literature Prize and the Forward Prize.

A lover of traditional Irish music and an accomplished musician in his own right, Ciaran often takes out his whistle and plays a few tunes during his readings, adding another element to the lyrical beauty of his poems.

Tickets for this wonderful night are only €7 and are available from The Dock Box Office on 071 9650828 or online at www.thedock.ie.
