After the huge success of their first six months as a new band playing to a packed house in Cooney’s Hotel, Ballymahon, the Sheerin Family have decided to continue with a regular gig on the last Monday of each month.

This month on Monday, August 27, there is a special treat in store for fans of country music. The Sheerin Family will be joined on stage by country music star, Matt Leavy.

Born a native of Athboy, Co Meath, Matt Leavy hails from a musical family and is rated by Ireland’s top entertainers as one of the best country singers in the country.

Matt has shared the stage with such entertainers as Johnny Cash, George Jones, Ricky Skaggs and Buck Owens.

The band consists of seven family members out of 11. The family members are: Paul on Steel Guitar, Dessie on Bass, Danny on Vocals and Acoustic Guitar, Kieran on Piano, Tom on Fiddle, Simon on Drums, and Carmel on Vocals and Acoustic Guitar.

Their unique sound and crisp harmonies will leave the hairs standing on the back of your neck. A great night is in store on August 27 and you never know who you might spot in the crowd from the Irish entertainment world. The show starts at 10pm and admission is free.
