Would you like to speak confidently in front of an audience? Are you keen to improve your communication and social skills? Would you enjoy a relaxed and entertaining outlet as we enter the long winter evenings?

This Thursday, the 20th of September, Longford Toastmasters invite you to attend their open evening in the Longford Arms Hotel at 8.30pm.

The purpose of the open evening is to highlight the benefits that Toastmasters bring to its members, regardless of their age, gender, denomination or background.

The evening gives you the opportunity to experience how a typical meeting is run. Sit back and enjoy prepared speeches, a humorous topics session, a cup of tea and a chat, all compliments of the club.

“It’s an opening for people to improve their communications, no matter what level they are starting from. There is a programme set out, that every individual can work at at their own pace. This open meeting is about letting new people come along and see what it’s all about,” committee member John Farrell told the Leader this week.

Should you decide to join Toastmasters on a regular basis, you will improve your public speaking in a friendly, non-judgemental atmosphere. Everyone, from the novice speaker to the accomplished communicator, is encouraged to improve their communication skills, in a social and supportive setting.

Members progress at their own pace or may just like to attend and enjoy the speeches. Longford Toastmasters club has been established since 2000 and meetings are held in the Longford Arms Hotel on the first and third Thursday of each month.

Visitors are always welcome and there is no obligation to join. If you would like any further information, please contact Pat on 087 2442696 or John on 086 8346559 or visit www.toastmasters.org.
