Justin steps into spotlight
Justin McGuire.
Last week (Wednesday, August 15), 50 of the world’s best dancers began a ten day series of workshops at The Helix, Dublin. Among them was Carrickedmond’s Justin McGuire (16). In a challenge titled ‘Take To The Floor 2012’, Justin will work with professional choreographers and directors over the ten day period to create a full length Irish entertainment production. This will culminate in the performance of a show in-front of a live audience.
Justin, a son of Seamus and Margaret and a brother to Lauren, has been dancing since he was four-years-old and has participated in some of the most prestigious Irish dancing competitions in the world. He is also preparing for the British Open Championships and World Championships which will be held in Boston in April 2013.
Other participants in ‘Take To The Floor 2012’ include Nicola Byrne (former Riverdance lead and Celebrity Jigs n’ Reels winner), Micheal Ryan (TCRG, dance tutor University of Limerick, Ragus Director) and Breandán De Gallai (Riverdance Dance Director, Noctu director / choreographer, An Jig Gig judge).
