Festive weekend at Creative Ardagh
Fairy Hunt at Creative Ardagh.
Creative Ardagh at Ardagh Heritage and Creativity Centre are celebrating the High King’s Lughnasa feast in Tara. In the ancient times of Midir and Etain people gathered on Brí Léith (Ardagh Mountain), home of the sidhe fairy people, to collect bilberries for the High King’s Lughnasa feast.
Creative Ardagh celebrates this tradition with a Fairy Ball on Saturday July 28 and Bilberry Walk on Sunday July 29. Come for some or all of the following: From 2.00 pm: Paint the Legend workshop, a picnic in the grounds and a fairy hunt in the woods. From 7.00pm we have a performance of Midir and Etain legend followed by the Fairy Ball with music and dancing. Fancy dress optional. Tickets: €20 (admits one adult and up to two children); Extra child €4; Teens, students and OAPS €10. Booking advisable contact (086) 3027602 or email creativeardagh@gmail.com Also, meet at Keenan Park GAA grounds on Sunday July 29 at 10.00am for a walk up Ardagh Mountain (Brí Léith) with Brendan Farrell in search of bilberries (wild blueberries).
