Enda at this year’s Edinburgh fringe
For over 50 years it has been reputed as one of the world’s most popular comedy festivals, and this year it will feature none other than Edgeworthstown comedian, Enda Whitney. On the opening weekend (August 4 and 5), the Edinburgh Fringe Festival’s laughter-packed itinerary will include performances by Enda at the Jeykll and Hyde Club on Hanover Street.
“I was asked to do a guest appearance on the opening weekend of the festival,” said the NUI Maynooth student.
A son of Mary and the late Frank, Enda added: “The show is called ‘All about the crack’, and my slot is 15-20 minutes on the Saturday (August 4) and Sunday (August 5) nights.”
Other comedians to feature in the show are Dublin’s Gary Lynch and Derry’s Michael Porter.
Enda’s sketch, which is titled ‘Water Charges And Bono’, is loosely based on the current economy and observations both nationally and internationally.
The 26-year-old told the Leader that he was looking forward to the Fringe Festival (August 3 - 27) as it was focused on small intimate venues with comedy-loving audiences.
