All eyes will be firmly fixed on Newtowncashel’s Pairc Naomh Chiaran grounds this evening (Wednesday) as the south Longford side take on Donegal outfit Naomh Brid, Ballintra in the semi-finals of RTE’s Celebrity Bainisteoir.

Under the guidance of Miss Universe Ireland 2010 winner Rozanna Purcell, Cashel will be hoping to make home advantage count ahead of their clash with Pippa O’Connor’s Ulster charges.

This year’s intermediate championship finalists saw off Cork’s Ballinora in the previous round but face a much sterner examination by the Ballintra based side who comfortably dispatched St Mary’s of Rochfortbridge, Co Westmeath last time out.

Cashel, however, appear to be a team growing in confidence. After being held in their opening semi-final encounter with Carrickedmond, the double winning champions of 2008 and 2009 made short work of their long time rivals in the replay last weekend, emerging victorious on a scoreline of 2-9 to 0-5.

Their celebrity supremo could be seen along the sideline that day, cheering on her new found playing personnel in front of a sizeable crowd at Pearse Park.

Those same set of supporters will, no doubt, be hoping for a similarly polished performance and end result when Cashel line out at around 8:30pm this evening.
