‘Blame it on the boogie’ for Variety Group

“Blame it on the Boogie” will be this year’s show in Backstage Theatre from November 19th to 23rd, Longford Variety Group for Charity have announced.

The show’s launch will take place in PV’s on Thursday, November 8th. All Welcome.

Part of this years show is a feature from Peelo School of Dance.

The Performers Academy is a youth dance company within the The Peelo School of Dance run by Deirdre Brennan. The company consists of all senior students from the four branches, Longford, Roscommon, Celbridge and Maynooth. It is a stepping stone for the students who have a passion for dance and would like a future career in dance or those who want to further their dance training.

The girls take part in intense training every Saturday where they learn various styles of dance for different performances. The Performers Academy have taken part it many events throughout the year such as The Maynooth Festival, Age Action Ireland charity event and the Helix.

Over the course of the year they attend various workshops given by Anne Maher and Stephen Brennan from Ballet Ireland, they also have classes given by commercial dancers who perform on The Voice, Xfactor and West end shows. The girls also get the opportunity to travel to London to the West End to see a show and go to Pineapple Dance Studios.

All the girls in the Peelo School of Dance are very excited to take part in The Longford Variety show this year and have started rehearsing and are working very hard.
