Granard markets expand

Last weekend, Granard County Markets launched its second market which takes place each Saturday at Lus na Greine Family Resource Centre from 11am-1pm. Granard Country Market has been operating since the 1980s, after a group of women from the locality joined forces and began providing their home baking produce to the wider community. This latest installation will not only provide the very best in local home made produce, including cakes, jams and breads, but also boasts an array of Eastern European foods. Tea and coffee is also available, so the new market provides the perfect setting in which to meet a friend, relax over coffee/tea and a scone and have a good old natter.

On July 14 next a health expert will provide free advice on ‘the food pyramid’ and will also advise market goers about healthy eating opetions. The Friday market continues as usual from 8:30-11am and as always provides the pople of north Longford with the very best in local fresh produce.
