WELCOME HOME: As I write there is a great atmosphere here in Mohill as we prepare to welcome home Laura Reynolds who was competing in the Womens 20k race at the Olympics in London.
This was Laura’s first time competing. She started out at the back of the pack but by concentrating and keeping her emotions level she made steady progress througout the race to finish in 20th place with a season’s best in a time of 1.31.02. It was a great achievement. You have done us proud, Congratulations. You are a credit to your parents, trainer Colin Griffin who also competed in the men’s 50Km race and to all who have helped you to compete at the Olympics.
