STEPHEN AND LORRAINE WED: Our warmest congratulations to Lorraine Beirne, daughter of Paddy and Mary Beirne Ohill Mohill on her marriage to Stephen McSweeney son of Sean and Sheila McSweeney Ballincul Co Sligo.
They tied the knot in St Patricks Church Mohill and the radiant bride had as her bridesmaid her sister Catherine, Stehpen had his brother Tadgh as his groomsman.
The beautiful little flower girl was Sinead Beirne and the handsome page boy was Sean McSweeney. Following the ceremony with nuptial mass a reception for family and friends was enjoyed a the Landmark hotel Carrick on Shannon. Their many friends here in Mohill wish to join with me in wishing Stephen and Lorraine a life filled with love and every blessing now and in the years ahead.
POKER NIGHT: All roads lead to John James Bar Glebe St Mohill when serious card players come to play poker on this Friday night 20th July at 8pm.For the lucky winner the prize is 500 euro. KNOCK SUMMER FESTIVAL: The festival takes place on Saturday 28th July. This day will be full of talks, prayer music reflection and workshops. The theme for the day is “One”. The day is for people aged 17-30 years and is free of charge. We shall never know all the good that a prayer can do. The fruit of prayer is faith – it is a gift from God.
MOHILL GAA LOTTO RESULTS: On the 9th July the draw was held in O’Carolans Glebe St. The numbers drawn 2,7,15,23. There was no jackpot winner. LEItRIM GUARDIAN: The editor of the Leitrim Guardian- Dr Blaithin Gallagher Drumkeerin is now working on producing the 45th edition of the Leitrim Guardian which will be launched on 30th Nov 2012. Blaithin is seeking contributions - articles photos and short stories about events and people reflecting life in Co Leitrim. This magazine represents all areas and parishes in the county and is a forum for any person at home or abroad to write a short article poem etc and send it on to Blaithin. Many successful current writers started off their writing career by contributing to the Leitrim Guardian. Each year literary and poetry awards are presented to winners by the committee who also select the Leitrim Guardian Person of year award and nominations for the award can be submitted to the sect Fr John Sexton Parochial House Kilargue. Please put your pen to paper and send in your poem or story.

CYSTIC FIBROSIS ASSOCIATION: Thank you to all who donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Association collection held on 23- 24th June last. A total of 570 euro was the amount collected. A special thanks to the collectors who always turn up. A friend in need is a friend indeed.

MONTESSORI PRESCHOOL IN MOHILL: A new Montessori Preschool is opening in Mohill town. This school is now enrolling for September. They will cater for children aged 2 years 10 months up to 5 years. They will also provide places under the ECCE scheme. If your child is starting school in September 2013 and was born between 02/02/20008 and 30/06/209 they are entitled to avail of the free pre school year opening 9.30am to 1pm Monday to Friday. TAX RELIEF FOR CHARITABLE DONATIONS: Tax Relief forms were sent out recently to all those who contributed more than 250 euro to the offertory as dues collections in 2011.For those who pay income tax under the PAYE system only the parish can reclaim tax already paid. A big thank you to all those who have returned forms and ask that any outstanding forms be returned by the end of this week. If you pay any income tax other than PAYE do not return the form but you can claim the relief when making your annual returns. If you do not pay income tax simply ignore the form.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION: There is Eucharistic Adoration every Thursday here in St Patricks Church from 10.30am – 10pm .You are welcome to come and make a visit. Open your heart to another’s troubles and your own will be easier to bear.
