CROAGH PATRICK CLIMB: Twenty one members of St Peters walking club took on the challenging adventure of navigating Croagh Patrick on Saturday last. This was a major achievement for the recently formed walking group considering the weather conditions.

All members completed the task as they were joined by fifteen hundred athletes competing in a triathlon from Westport. Afterwards all retreated to the Tavern for lunch and beverages. A great days craic and good fun was had by all. Plans are already being made for more adventures in the Spring. This Saturday November 10th the group meet in Legan at 10am.

GAA: Results of GAA Lotto draw held on Monday October 29th in Sloweys for a jackpot of 5400 euro. Numbers drawn were 3,30,22 and 29. There was no jackpot winner. Match three winners of 50 euro each were Leigh Kelly and Carmel Nulty. This week’s draw took place in Caseys Carrickboy on Monday night and results next week.

INNY ANGLERS: Inny Anglers Lotto draw took place in Mitchells for a jackpot of 2650 euro. Numbers drawn were 13,23 and 33. There was no jackpot winner. Special draw winners were Frank Keenen and John Joe Keenan. Well done to all who won prizes at pheasant weigh in in Sloweys on November 1st.

BEST OF LUCK: Best of luck to Paddy Donnelly whose greyhound Johnny Set a Side who has qualified to run at Dundalk greyhound track on this Friday night in the Derby final.

SYMPATHY: The death occurred on Thursday last of Aileen Kelly Corracorky at Thomond Lodge Ballymahon following a long illness. Predeceased by her husband Seamus a couple of years ago. Aileen was a very reserved and quiet lady. Always gentle and unassuming, she was a very loyal friend and good neighbour to all knew her. She will be sadly missed by her sons Frank and Patrick, her daughters in law, grandchildren,relatives and friends to whom we extend our sincere sympathy. May she rest in peace.

ICA: The monthly meeting of Legan ICA guild takes place on Tuesday November 13th in the GAA clubhouse at 8pm.New members welcome.
