BONFIRE NIGHT: St Brigids GAA annual bonfire and barbcue takes place this Friday 29th June at St Brigids GAA Club grounds with a fully licenced bar. Music is supplied by the Wee Amigos. Food will be served from 10pm to 12 midnight. Tickets are on sale from committee members and are also available at the venue. A great night’s entertainment is assured.

KILLASHEE TIDY TOWNS: Adjudication time in Tidy Towns is fast approaching. Numerous improvements have taken place in the village. The committee are now appealing for volunteers to come along on Monday evenings to help out with weeding,litter picking etc. The meeting point is at Killashee school at 7.30pm and bring a friend with you. If you have a hi-vis jacket please wear it.

COMMUNIITY GAMES: Congratulations to the boys U13 futsal team who defeated Meath by 4 goals to 1 goal on Saturday last. The boys have now qualified for the Leinster semi final which takes place in Carlow on Saturday 7th July. Well done to the team Dylan Farrell Lady Duggan Max Webb Jack Magan Dylan Glancy Peter Nolan and Rian Cox and their manager Dan Magan. Unfortunately the girls were defeated in their futsal match against Meath. They put up a brave fight and were proud representatives of the parish and county. Well done to Louise Grogan Emer Tyrell Tamara and Tonicha Lee Aoife Kavanagh and Niamh Nolan and their manager Joe Tyrell. We wish Emer Tyrrell a speedy recovery from an injury sustained during the match.

CONGRATS: Congratulations to Stonepark National School who won Division 1 B Championship final last week by convincingly defeating Colehill school. Well done to Jack Magan Killashee and Rian Cox Cloontagh who were playing with Stonepark.

THANK:The Rathcline ladies wish to thank everyone who supported their night at the dogs last weekend. The night was a great success,thanks to everyone’s generosity.

TRAGIC DEATHS: There was widespread shock and sadness in the area as news spread of the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of Gavin Doyle Kenagh and Tom Kearney Ardagh on Friday morning last. Deepest sympathy is extended to the families and friends of the two young men whose final took place on Sunday last. May their souls rest in peace.

SYMATHY: Deepest sympathy is extended to Mrs Francis Cox, Begnagh and family on the untimely death of her grandnephew Gavin Doyle.
