Sponsored Walk: There will be a four kilometre walk from Kearney’s Pub in Curraghmore on Sunday April 22, starting at 3.30pm. Proceeds are in aid of Our Lady’s Hospital Crumlin. This will be a fun day for all. You can walk, run or jog. Walkers of all ages are invited to come and support a good cause. Sponsor cards available at Kearney’s.

Ploughing Match: The County Longford Ploughing Championships were held under ideal conditions at Lisaniskey last Sunday. It was a very successful event with over 100 entries in total. There were many trade stands and various side shows present. See full report of winners later.

Progressive 25: Winners in St. Dominic’s Centre last Thursday night were Kieran and Larry, Bridie and Packie, Mark and Noreen. Eleven games each they share 120 euros. Table prizes Bill and Pete, Kathleen and Annie, they win 25 euros each. Raffle Mike Duignan, Peter Donlon, Liam McHugh, Michael McCormack, Freda Connaughton, Joe Rooney – all win 10 euros each. Play begins and 9pm next Thursday night and will remain that way for the rest of the year.
