CLOONE/AUGHAVAS COMMUNITY PLAYSCHOOL: Limited places available. We are now taking bookings for September 2012 for children who are age 2 years and 10 months on the 1st September 2012.

We are also providing places under the ECCE scheme if your child is going to school in September 2013 and born between 2nd February 2008 and 30th June 2009 they are entitled to avail of the free preschool year. Cloone/Aughavas community Playschool offers children the oportunity to learn through play in a safe stimulating and educational environment.

CLOONE AGRICULTURAL SHOW THANKS: The committee of Cloone Agriculural Show would like to thank evrryone who attended and supported their recent 24th annual event. Special thanks to the exhibitors patrons judges and personnel involved in the “Special attractions” category. Special mention and thanks is also expressed to the donors and sponsors of financial and material prizes Jim Cunniffe for car parking place ,all the people who assisted in any way before during and after the show. The committe are also indebted to the Gardai civil defence and the local and national press and radio for valued coverage ,not forgetting everyone who supported fundraising events town collections and church gate collections. In conclusion the committee wish to express sincere thanks to the Beirnes or the use of their excellent venue which is a huge asset to the show. After the huge success of the 2012 show everyone is looking forward to Cloone’s 25th show and hopefully it will continue its successful trend.

LADY GOLFERS: At the recently held Lady Captain and Lady Presidents competitions at Ballinamore golf club two local lady golfers beat off stiff opposition to take the prestigious titles. On the Saturday 14th of July Breige Solon won the lady Captains Prize (Jill Webster) after a keenly contested 18 hole stroke competition. On Saturday the 25th of August Maureen Heslin won the Lady Presidents Prize (Mrs Bridie Gannon) beating all comers in an 18 hole stroke competition. Both competitions had a big number of contestants. Congratulations to both ladies. This should encourage other local ladies to dust off the clubs and take to the fairways.

ICA:Cloone Guild will host the Leitrim Federation in Cloone community Centre on Tuesday night 11th September at 8pm. All guilds welcome.
