Canoeing on the Royal Canal at Richmond Harbour, Clondra: A Fun Day is planned for Sunday 16th September on the Harbour. The event is open to alll from 10 years upwards, including those that have never paddled before.

Families are very welcome. Time: 12 noon to 3 o’clock. Fee €5. This is an opportunity to paddle slalom and canadian boats. Bring a picnic and enjoy the day out! For sefety reasons, those that wish to participate in this event must be able to swim. Buoyancy aids and other essention equipment will be provided. Help needed with Digital TV Switchover?: Need help setting up your new Saorview Set Top Box? A local Clondra Pensioner has kindly offered to install Set Top Boxes FREE of charge, for anyone in the local area who might need assistance. If you would like help, contact Valerie Maguire, Co. Longford’s Digital Outreach Champion on 087 2615583 and she will put you in touch with each other.

Your generous support is greatly appreciated. Pieta House will be opening a centre in Tuam Co Galway in the near future.

FULL TIME COURSES: Templemichael College Longford are presently enrolling students for their FETAC level 5 one year mid Sept to May course. Templemichael College have a long tradition of providing these PLC courses. There are a limited number of places on the Engineering Technology Horticulture/Landscape Gardening ,laboratory techniques,CAD,IT/Computer game design,Hotel /catering,business studies/ computers,beauty therapy,art/craft/design and childcare level 6. CLONDRA GOES BLUE GRASS: Broad Oak Blue Grass band from London are playing the Richmond Inn Clondra on Saturday night 22nd September.This group are no strangers to the area as they played at the Longford banjo festival for a number of years. A great night’s entertainment is assured . All are very welcome.

CANOEING FUN DAY: At Clondra Harbour on Sunday 16th September from 12 noon to 3pm.For children age 10 years and over. All children must be able to swim. Slalom and Canadian canoeing. Check notice board in Clondra Church for more details.

BEST WISHES: Best wishes for a speedy recovery back to full health to Norman Good Longford. Norman is well known for his keen interest and involvement with the Royal Canal over the years. Also a very popular and excellent barman helping out on occasions in the Clondra and Tarmon pubs. Good wishes from all of us Norman.
