Cemetery Sunday

Longford Gardaí have asked that all people who usually travel the Slashers Road (Ballymacormack Cemetery Road), to please avoid doing so on Sunday, August 19, next around 1pm. At that time Cemetery Sunday will take place and large crowds are expected to attend.

“People who use the road to travel to Athlone or Lanesboro, or people coming in from Kenagh, are advised to avoid this route,” said a Garda spokesperson. She added: “Also cars that are parked where they shouldn’t be will be towed.”
