GARDEN CLUB: As Monday October 29th is a bank holiday Granard Garden club will meet in Lus Na Greine on Monday night 22nd at 8-00pm so members are asked to please take note.The guest speakers on the night are Rosalyn and Niall Beaty from Tullyvin Garden centre.

ARDSCOIL PHADRAIG: An open evening for all fifth and sixth class pupils and their parents/guardians will be held in the school on this Thursday evening October 18th starting at 7-00pm. This is great opportunity to sample life in Ardscoil Phadraig and there will be a presentation on education through teaching technology where teachers will give demonstrations on teaching and learning through the use of netbooks. The principal Mr Garret Buckley and staff look forward to a big turnout.

HALLOWEEN PARTY: The parents association of St.Guasacht’s national school in Bunlahy are holding a Halloween party in Creegan’s on Saturday 27th October starting at 3-00pm and continuing until 5-00pm with prizes for the best fancy dress.This promises to be a great evening’s fun so come along and enjoy.

JUNIOR SCOR: A meeting of junior scor will be held in Killeen school on this Thursday night October 18th at 8-00pm and all youngsters wishing to represent Ballymore are invited to attend.We would like to be represented in as many events as possible so if its figure dancing,set dancing,solo singing,ballad group or taking part in the novelty act or the quiz team please come along and make sure your parents come along also.For further details please contact Seamus on 0879984115.

NEW BABY: Congratulations to Philip and Carrie O Hara Gallid on the birth of their third son recently. The new arrival is to be named Daniel and he is a welcome brother for Eoin and Conor and grandson for John and Anne O Hara Muckerstaff.

CROCHET FOR CHARITY: Crochet classes are commencing on Wed 24th Oct from 18:30 to 20:00 at The Wool Barn, Coolarty The cost per class is €5.00 and classes will run for four weeks. SPOOKY SATURDAY MARKET: Colouring competition and face painting at Granard Country Market on Saturday 27th Oct in Lus na Gréine frc 11am-1pm. Colouring sheets available from the Library, Post Office and Lus na Gréine. Completed entries to be received at Lus na Gréine by 11.30am on morning of competition. Complimentary tea/coffee for everyone.

WINNERS: Congratulations and well done Ballymore on winning the Bertie Allen cup when they beat Connolly’s in Abbeylara on Saturday evening last. Nice to end the year on a high note.
