SPECIAL BIRTHDAY GREETINGS: On behalf of all I extend special greetings and congratulations to Mrs Lettita Bogan Coolarty who celebrated her 100th birthday on Friday August 24th last.
Mrs Bogan was the former post mistress in Coolarty post office right up to her retirement some years ago and many will have great memories of visiting the office and enjoying great chats with her and with the Bogan family. A full-time resident of the Laurel Lodge nursing home, we understand that Mrs Bogan is enjoying reasonably good health and we join with her son John and her grandchildren and great grandchildren in wishing her continued good health and happiness.
THE LATE JOSEPHINE LANGLEY: The death has taken place on August 12 in America of Josephine Langley formerly Josephine Creegan of Dernavogey Aughnacliffe. The late Josephine was daughter of the late Hughie and Mary Jane Creegan and with her family she emigrated to America in 1948. Josephine is survived by her daughter Cathy, son Gary, brothers Hugh and John, sister Nancy, nephews and nieces and extended family both in America and Ireland. Josephine’s cousin Monsignor Michael Doyle remembered her and all the deceased Creegan’s at the annual reunion Mass in Cloone Church on Friday night last. Sincere sympathy is extended to Josephine’s family at this sad time. May she rest in peace.

THE LATE PAT WALKER: Genuine sadness and regret greeted the news that Pat Walker of Leitrim Cross and formerly of Cartroncar, Coolarty had passed to his eternal reward on Tuesday August 28th following a short illness. Pat was son of the late Paddy and Rose Walker and he was a plumber by trade and he proved to be very popular as he went about his work. If Pat told you he’d be with you on a certain day at a given time, well he’d be there as he believed that his word was his bond. A loving husband, father and granddad Pat will be sorely missed by his wife Mary, sons Padraig and Ciaran, daughters Roisin and Ashling, grandchildren Chloe and Ciara, his brothers, sisters, uncle Jimmy and extended family to who we offer our sincere sympathy at this sad time. May he rest in peace.
