WEDDING BELLS: Congrats to Paddy son of Tom and Bernadette O’Neill Firmount and Michelle daughter of Michael and Maura Melvaney Coolarty who were married recently in St Marys Church Granard.
The chief celebrant was Fr Bernard Noonan assisted by Fr Simon Cadam. The chief bridesmaid was Carmel McElvaney and bridsmaids Miriam McElvaney and Joanne Kiernan. Best man was Paul Treacy while Paddy’s brothers Brian and Thomas were groomsmen. Page boy was Ben Dawson-Stanley and flowergirl Bronagh Reilly and Katie O’Shaughnessy. All the guests enjoyed a beautiful meal in the Glasson Country House Hotel and danced the night away. We wish both of them a long and happy healthy life together.
EXAMS: Well done to all the local teenagers who received their leaving cert results last week. We hope they all get the college offers they were hoping to great.

GAA: Sean Connollys play Mostrim this weekend in the relegation play off. Check fixtures list for time and venue.In the coming weeks they also have 3 games in the league relegation play off. We hope to see an increase in support at these games as the club fights to maintain Div 2 league status.
FUNDRAISER: On Friday night next in Rawles Lounge there is a fundaiser in aid of research for motor neurone disease. Music by various artists. Tickets are 5 euro and are available locally . Doors open at 9pm. Special door prize on the night also.
SCHOOL RE-OPEnING: The local national school opens on Monday next Sept 3. We welcome all the children back and a special welcome to those just starting in junior infants. We also hope at our principal Linda Hughes and all the staff enjoyed their summer vacation.
HEART FOUNDATION: The annual collection takes place at all masses this weekend. Please support.
A PILGRIMAGE: Annual diocesan pilgrimage to Knock this weekend. Bus will leave Ballinalee at 10.40am. Tickets 10 euro and are available from Fr Brennan.
BADMINTON: A number of ladies have come together to start up a badminton club in the area. They are having a meeting this Thursday night at 9pm in the Thomas Ashe Hall. See the level of interest. There was a strong club in the parish a number of years back ,it proved to be a great way of keeping fit over the winter months.
Foróige Club: Ballinalee Foroige Club are looking for Volunteers to help run the Local youth Group every Friday night for 1 – 2 hours during the school year. Foroige clubs empower young people locally to become more and help enrich the communities in which they live. Full training in child protection and the running of a youth club will be provided as well as continued guidance and assistance from your Local Youth officer. BABY: Congrats to Paul & Helen Reynolds Shantober on the birth of their second child a baby boy. Mother and baby are healthy and well.
