NEW PEACE COMMISSIONER: Congratulations to Mr PJ Keogh Balliacargy on his appointment by the government as a peace commissioner for Cavan and the adjoining counties. A very helpful member of his community PJ is a keen GAA official and is currently treasurer of the local club, president of the Pioneer TAA Centre and treasurer of the local conference of Vincent de Paul Society.
COLLECTORS ITEM: A native son of the parish currently based overseas is putting together a selection of ancient items which in the distant past were part of the contents in almost every Irish home.
