Church Clean-up: Tonight Wednesday in both Churches at 8pm in preparation for Christmas, volunteers welcome, donations of flowers and holly appreciated.
Christmas Play: The pupils of the local National School presented their Christmas Show in the school last week to packed audiences on Tuesday morning and again on Wednesday evening. Well done to all the children, teachers and parents on an excellent production.
Santa Arrives: All roads lead to Kilcogy on Sunday next as Santa will pay his annual visit to the village in the afternoon and distribute presents to the children.
Walk a Mile: In Aid of Defibrilator Upgrade in Our Lady of Lourdes park, there will be a walk around the park on St. Stephens Day December 26th at 12 noon with the purpose being to raise funds for the club to assist in upgrading the defibulator. Persons are asked to walk around the park four times to meet the mile criteria and to contribute voluntarily in the buckets on the day. This is a much needed necessity for the club and we would ask all to make it their business to attend on the day or vice versa to contribute what they can. We would also ask you to let your friends and neighbours know about this extremely worthwhile effort – 15 minutes out of your day to help save a life potentially.
Angela O’Brien: We extend our sincere sympathy to the family and relations of the late Angela O’Brien of Crossdoney & Ballinagh who passed away recently. Angela was the proprietor of O’Brien’s licensed premises for many years which was an old landmark in the town and a favourite with locals. Later the premises became known again in its own right as the Millenium Bar when Loughduff native Terry Reilly took over on Angels’s retirement. Its all change again as Terry retires now and we wish him and his family the best of luck as they take it easy! Best wishes to Raymond Galligan as the new proprietor and continued success in the Millenium.

Taking into consideration the present economic climate all should consider buying Irish and it makes sense to shop local where you will be sure of a warm and friendly reception and a helping hand.
Ideal Gifts: There are limited stocks of the recent Loughduff Church Restoration booklet still available in the local shops. This publication which has a historical theme includes a detailed map of “Old Loughduff” as well many interesting articles and photographs of local interest and would make an ideal Christmas present for anyone who has connections with this parish.
