Mark Pollock.

A blind adventurer who was left paralysed following a freak accident two years ago, is set to speak at a community based seminar in Longford town next Wednesday (October 31).

Co Down native Mark Pollock, who lost his sight 14 years ago, was lucky to escape with his life after falling from a two story window while sleep walking in 2010.

This, after the Ulsterman had won two Commonwealth medals and become the first blind man to take on a gruelling voyage across the South Pole.

Now the 36-year-old is planning on relaying his inspirational story to members of the public at a Longford Community Resources Ltd (LCRL) networking event and seminar next week.

The event, which takes place inside the Longford Arms Hotel gets is scheduled to take place from 9am-1pm and is free to all.
